Video About Recycling
This is very funny, but it also teaches you the process of recycling. It is great.

There have been changes made to my project. It is no longer a competition. This is because if we did do a competition, we would be teaching kids to recycle for the wrong reasons. The other change to my project is that we will only be recycling things that people couldn’t recycle at home. This is because we want people to recycle what they can on their own.
5 million tons (more than ½ of the plastics thrown away in the U.S. each year) of packaging is thrown away each year in the
U.S. Each person uses 190 pounds of plastic every year (1/3 of this is packaging). If 105 of Americans bought products with less packaging, the country could eliminate 144 million lbs of plastic landfill. That is why this is a key thing to recycle. It is something we are considering putting in our project.
In the United States, over 11 billion tons of garbage is produced every year. By recycling, you could almost cut that in half. In doing that you preserve so many non-renewable resources, and you also preserve land that would most likely be turned into a landfill. There is nothing to lose by recycling, so you should go ahead and do it.
About 55 million newspapers are sold per day and on Sunday about 59 million are sold. Which means about 20.2 billion newspapers are sold every year. And if not even half of those people recycle those newspapers, think about how many unnecessary tons are going into landfills. That is why we will be collecting newspapers for this contest.
Welcome to my blog. As you may notice from the title, I am trying to save the world. I am doing this one community at a time. My goal is to spread knowledge. In doing this people will become aware of everything happening environmentally. Then they may even find a way to help out. Thus saving the world.
My project is going to be, going to the local elementary schools. I will talk to them about recycling. This is the first part of my plan; spreading knowledge. Then I will hold a contest between the schools to see whoever can collect the most recyclable items. This is the second and final part of my plan; to take action.
